Jacqueline Rutkowski (Brazil)

Hello Everybody. I am from Brazil. I and my freind did my English language course at Rose Mount. Dehradun, India. I and my freind stayed there for 8 weeks.

We found the classes, material, accommodation and food to be quite good.

The teachers are very nice and helping. In the hostel the food was home cooked so it was clean and healthy.

We also visited the mountains, Rishikesh and after some time my husband also joined me.

Rose Mount is a good school.

Keiichiro Shimonishi (Japan)

Hello, I am Keiichiro Shimonishi from Japan. I have been to Rose mount twice! Both the times I have thoroughly enjoyed myself. I am a student of High School. My level of English was zero when I first came.

It was difficult to adjust the first week but then I slowly learnt my way around.

Now I can speak good English.

I really had fun time here in India. The weather was lovely, the food was great and made some long lasting friends. I didn’t travel much around Dehradun but went to Haridawar with Mr. Madhukar (director Rose Mount). I am coming back again the third time next year!

Ali (Oman)

My purpose of coming to Dehradun, India was not to study English. I had come here to qualify one exam in Petroleum Industry. To qualify that exam good English is required and so I joined Rose Mount.

I studied English for six months.

I spent my evenings playing badminton or sitting and chatting with friends at the hostel. Because nobody could speak Arabic so I had to speak English to communicate and this really improved my language Skills.

Once I finished the course two of my friends also joined Rosemount..

Mohsen (Saudi Arabia)

My brother contacted the school. That proved to be the turning point.

I studied for 8 weeks in the school. My level was elementary when I joined but when I left I was able to read, write, speak English at a preInt level.

The best I had was in the hostel. All of us became very good friends. Some of them I am still in contact.

My teachers especially the morning teacher was very good. She spent lots of time with me to give correctional classes. I know without her it would have been very difficult. I thank her from all my heart.

Chih Chi (Taiwan)

I came to the school to prepare for IELTS (University of Cambridge Exam) with my friend. We stayed together in the same room.

After scoring 6.5 band I am now teaching English in Thailand. The principal himself used to take our classes. We spent around 6 hrs average in the class.

The mock test at the end of the course was exceptionally good. We got lots of practise and we were very comfortable on the examination day.

I highly recommend Rose Mount.

Learn English in India

English in India

For international students willing to study English, India is fast becoming a popular destination. There are more speakers of English in India than in UK itself – the country of its origin! So for one there is no dearth of good English language teachers. Secondly, it is affordable and thirdly, students have the choice of mixing holidays with learning.

You call up your insurance company from America to fix up a problem and the chances are that your call is received by a person sitting in India! He is more than glad to offer you quick instructions in perfect English. At times you do not even realize that you just spoke to a person thousand of miles away from a Hindi speaking country. People are waking up to the fact that writers from India - Arunaditi Roy, Vikram Seth can win prizes for their writings in English. So be sure that when you decide to learn English in India you are in safe hands.

How much would a person shell out if he goes to UK for a few weeks to learn English? Take a wild guess – hmm – lets say, around 4000 thousand pounds and that does not include stay and meals! Well, its way cheaper to stay and study in India. You get the same level of teachers and you are given more personal attention. You get a comfortable bed and let me warn you the Indian food is addictive.

India also amazes you with its history, culture and the natural diversity. In fact, you name it and we have it. Its rich architecture seeped in folklores, the Himalayan range in the north and the Thar desert, the wild life sanctuaries – you will always have something to pick up from the menu.

In the past years air travel has become cheaper, faster and safer. But what are you waiting for? Pack your bags and get moving. And don't forget to keep me posted.
